The "Journey" began way back in the 1950's when street racing on the rural roads of Alexander County. Harry slapped a Corvette engine into his black '57 Chevy. The skills Harry acquired on the Alexander County roads would come in handy later in life. His racing career started in 1973 and spanned two decades. The 1994 season marked the end of a long, colorful career for Harry Gant and his run with the Skoal Bandit Racing Team, which began in 1981.
